Mastercall Healthcare (Mastercall) is a not-for-profit organisation, limited by guarantee and is currently commissioned by Stockport & Trafford PCTs to provide their out of hours and GP led 8-8 Health Centres. A predominantly suburban area covering a registered patient population across both PCTs of c520,000. Mastercall handles in excess of 76,000 out of hours contacts per annum across Stockport and Trafford from their own ‘state of the art’ premises, computer & telephony infrastructure which is based in Stockport.
They are a high performing organisation with a 15 year track record of provision of high quality urgent and unscheduled care. Part of their original contract with the PCTs was to perform to higher than the National Quality Requirements which they consistently achieved.
Mastercall are an innovative service provider and play a significant role in the PCT’s urgent/ unscheduled care agenda by providing a number of additional services including a supported discharge service at the local hospital to support early discharge, COPD tele-health medicine and primary care streaming at the local A&E departments.
They hold a large, highly experienced multi-disciplinary workforce comprising GPs, nurse clinicians, nurse practitioners, minor illness nurses, triage nurses, drivers, call handlers and administrators. They are committed to staff education and development. Their Minor Illness Course has been accredited by the Liverpool John Moore’s University.
Their commitment to clinical governance is reflected in the recent honour of two awards; 2008 NHS Alliance ‘Excellence in Service’ Clinical Quality Award and 2008 NHS Alliance ‘Acorn Award’ for Clinical Governance.
