North Hampshire Urgent Care

NHUC

North Hampshire Urgent Care (NHUC) provides out of hours services for the ½ million patients of North Hampshire, West Surrey and part of East Berkshire, including several MOD sites, 2 psychiatric hospitals and 1 community hospital.

Additionally it provides Improved Access to Psychological Therapies for North Hampshire and staff for the Hampshire Healthcare Centre in Basingstoke

North Hampshire Urgent Care was formed by the merger in 2006 of two former co-ops, Hantsdoc and Blackwater Valley Doctors Co-op and is a Community Benefit Society.

NHUC benefits from having strong engagement among the local GPs who still cover 66% of the rota. Nurses make up 20% of the clinical workforce and provide triage and face to face consultations.

NHUC has 2 bases, one at Frimley Park Hospital and one at North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke, and handles 75,000 patient contacts per annum.
