Badger (Birmingham & District General Practitioner Emergency Rooms) Group is a consortium of local doctors. The Badger out of hours co-operative was launched in 1996 and has grown substantially since then. Today they have over 230 GP members and 6 PCTs using the service with a patient base of over 2,000,000.

In December 2009 badger moved into new head quarters, call centre facilities and treatment centre facilities including a minor-ops suite complete with an organisation-wide  rebrand and new logo. Another further development was in April 2011 Badger welcomed its first CEO – Nick Farmer.
